The Specialist Community Forensic Team has recently been commissioned to work with key stakeholders and partner agencies to enhance community provision for people who are autistic or who have a learning disability.
Primary secretarial responsibility to Specialist Community Forensic Team for people with a Learning Disabilities and or Autistic ((CM SCFT LD/A) Consultant Psychiatrist. We are looking for a Medical Secretary who is enthusiastic and person centred. They will provide a high quality service that is innovative in practise.
Main duties of the job
The Specialist Community Forensic Team is a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Nursing, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology and Psychiatry.
We are looking for a medical secretary who will provide a comprehensive, efficient and modern secretarial service primarily to Consultant Psychiatrist and when required wider service
The core business of the service is Monday to Friday between 0900hrs - 1700hrs, based in the team's office at Hollins Park.
Core hours of this post will be discussed at interview.

Job responsibilities
As part of our client care pathways several regular client centred meetings, consultation clinics and care & support reviews are arranged and administered on behalf of the client. The post holder will have primary secretarial responsibility to Specialist Community Forensic Team for people with a Learning Disabilities and or Autistic (CM SCFT LD/A) Consultant Psychiatrist or service lead.
The post holder will also provide a confidential, flexible, comprehensive business administration service within a team or service structure.
The post holder must be able to exercise judgement and knowledge in prioritising their daily duties and tasks, by understanding the needs and priorities of the Consultant Psychiatrist or service leads and balancing against service level agreements/core standards and the resource available.
This will require the post holder to be able to negotiate, influence, delegate and make creative decisions to ensure the use of resources are maximised within the service or team.
Knowledge of general/medical or legal terminology is a requirement; working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and experience of using Electronic Patient Records system, is essential to carry this role out effectively.

Qualifications
* Possess a recognised typing/word processing qualification i.e., RSA III or equivalent
* Good standard of general education to include GCSE grade C or equivalent including English language
* AMSPAR Diploma or equivalent i.e., legal
* NVQ Admin level 3 or working towards
* ECDL or Microsoft Office Specialist qualification or working towards
Knowledge
* Significant relevant secretarial and diary management experience in similar role
* Respond to and deal with routine and complex enquiries from staff and other agencies in using initiative and responding within agreed boundaries
* Previous experience of arranging meetings and producing the relevant agendas, minutes, and papers
* Previous experience of data input and retrieval for analysis
* Proficient in the use of computer packages which include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer
* Able to produce documents, reports etc to a high standard to meet deadlines
* Experience of using/updating electronic client admin systems RiO/PAL/s Lorenzo/ Care-notes
* Ability to operate and maintain a bring forward system
