Approved Premises (APs) contribute to the effective risk management of people released from prison by providing an enhanced level of supervision, monitoring, and rehabilitation within the community. The post will provide you experience of working with complex and vulnerable people and an understanding of residential settings within the Criminal Justice System. What you’ll do:
* Plan, prepare, cook, and appropriately present meals to the residents.
* Follow recipes well and have good experience in volume cooking.
* Ensure routine day-to-day as well as specialized cleaning of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, kitchen floors, and storage areas.
* Control waste with regard to preparation and cooking.
* Maintain the highest standards of health, hygiene, and safety.
* Manage and control all food, including receiving and checking stock, ensuring correct use of equipment and materials, and closely monitoring portion control.
* Collect routine data as required and ensure all daily checks, including temperature control during production, preparation, service, and storage, are carried out properly.
* Immediately report all accidents, near misses, damage, or breakages to the Catering supervisor.
* Ensure that the Catering Department is opened and closed at the required times and secured when not in use.
* Undertake any other tasks appropriate to the duties and responsibilities of the post.
* Attend relevant training sessions to ensure you are fully equipped to perform your role effectively.
