Job summary This post is Fixed term/Secondment until 31/08/2025 to meet the needs of the service. An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right person to join our team on a fixed term contract until 31.8.2025 at Lewis Merthyr Day Unit, who who provide specialist dementia care for patients living in the community. You will need a passion and commitment for older persons care and a personality to want to help those living with dementia maintain their skills and enable them to remain at home for as long as possible. The day unit provides meaningful activity, occupation and a homely atmosphere where people can enjoy their day. This is post is fixed term to cover the needs of the service demands. Main duties of the job You will need good communication skills, be able to work as part of a team and educated to a NVQ level 2 in health care or have the equivalent experience. Work within a multidisciplinary team under the direction of of a registered nurse. To be responsible for organising and delivering meaningful activities within a day unit setting. To support the delivery of health care within the day unit intervention plan. Participate in supervision from registered nurses. Develop knowledge and skills via appraisal and supervision process and keep up to date with the statutory and mandatory training. Provide a range of interventions required to support service users meet their personal care needs.
