Domestic Gas Service and Breakdown Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Domestic Gas Service and Breakdown Engineer to join our team in the Bedfordshire area. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of our housing association's gas services.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with a well-established housing association that operates as a Direct Labour Organisation (DLO). As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of service delivery and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
Main Responsibilities
* To carry out routine servicing and breakdown maintenance on domestic gas appliances in accordance with current regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
* To diagnose and repair faults efficiently, using appropriate diagnostic techniques and tools.
* To conduct thorough risk assessments and ensure safe working practices at all times.
* To maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including certification and documentation.
* To contribute to the development and implementation of processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
* National Accreditation (City & Guilds) or equivalent qualifications in Domestic Gas Engineering.
* Excellent knowledge of gas safety regulations and codes of practice.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively with colleagues, residents, and external stakeholders.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Salary Information
The salary for this position is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This includes a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, life insurance, and annual leave entitlement.
