Job purpose
As a Team Leader with Brinscall Care, youll support a dedicated team in delivering high-quality, therapeutic residential care to children facing complex challenges due to adverse childhood experiences. Youll be a positive role model, fostering a safe, nurturing, and healing environment where children feel secure, valued, and capable of growth.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining standards aligned with our Statement of Purpose, upholding trauma-informed practices, and meeting regulatory requirements. Youll lead by example, empowering both staff and young people to thrive through compassionate guidance and teamwork. Alongside supporting childrens emotional and physical well-being, youll oversee care plans, drive a positive culture, and ensure consistent delivery of quality care.

Team Leader Responsibilities
Supporting Childrens Needs:
* Develop and oversee individual care plans, ensuring each young persons social, emotional, and health needs are regularly reviewed and met.
* Attend planning and review meetings to contribute positively toward the best outcomes for each child.
* Act as a key worker, providing direct support, guidance, and positive role modelling.
* Promote standards of care in line with Quality Standards and the Homes Statement of Purpose.
* Consult with young people on their care experience, promoting their active participation.
* Collaborate with parents, carers, and professionals to safeguard and support young peoples well-being.
Team Leadership and Development:
* Supervise and guide new starters, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
* Identify training and development needs, supporting staff to reach their full potential.
* Lead by example, creating a positive and collaborative team environment.
* Provide regular supervision and feedback, addressing any performance or conduct issues as they arise.
* Promote a high-engagement culture through effective leadership, coaching, and recognition.
Operational and Resource Management:
* Manage staffing levels and ensure rotas meet the homes needs, including emergency cover.
* Monitor budgets, ensuring resources are used effectively to support the homes operations.
* Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding standards are maintained at all times.
* Develop and uphold routines that maintain a clean, safe, and orderly home environment.
* Ensure accurate reporting, record-keeping, and compliance with Quality Standards.
General Standards and Professional Conduct:
* Adhere to Brinscall Care policies, procedures, and safeguarding protocols.
* Act as a positive role model, promoting a safe and inclusive environment.
* Contribute to regular staff meetings, supervision sessions, and professional development.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statutory care frameworks, legislation, and best practices.
* Demonstrate flexibility in response to the homes needs, including providing cover where required.
Environment and Resource Management:
* Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing environment, ensuring Health and Safety standards are met.
* Encourage community engagement, supporting young people in building social connections.
* Participate in administration and reporting as required by management.
