The Outreach and Worship Minister guides the church’s outreach initiatives and worship services to deepen community connections and spiritual growth. This role involves developing outreach programs, coordinating evangelism efforts, and building relationships with local organisations to extend the church’s mission. The minister will also lead the worship ministry by planning and delivering meaningful worship experiences, including music, prayer, and other elements that enhance congregational engagement. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, a heart for ministry, and a commitment to inspiring others through outreach and worship.
Main Role
• You will assist as a member of the staff team, under the direction of the Senior Pastor, to assist in the overall growth of the church.
• Counsel and motivate congregation members by addressing their personal and faith-related concerns.
• You will be responsible for Pastoral duties such as organising and teaching Bible study groups, discipleship programs, or faith-based workshops to deepen members' spiritual understanding.
• Encourage and organise members' participation in outreach and worship, promoting a sense of responsibility and service within the congregation.
• Uphold the church’s theological standards and traditions in all worship and outreach activities.
• You will work with the pastors and the unit leaders to design worship plans that inspire reflection, worship, and personal spiritual growth for the congregation and community participants.
• Develop and implement creative initiatives to connect with the local community, address their needs, and share the church’s message.
• Train and mobilise members for effective evangelism, ensuring outreach supports the church’s vision.
• Establish and nurture relationships with local organisations, schools, and businesses to collaborate on community projects and events.
• Organise and oversee all aspects of worship, including music selection, prayer, and other service elements to create meaningful spiritual experiences.
• Recruit, mentor, and rehearse with choir members, musicians, and other worship volunteers to ensure high-quality worship experiences.
• Plan and lead events such as concerts, workshops, or seminars to attract and engage community members while promoting the church’s mission.
• Regularly meet with church members to understand their needs, encourage participation, and provide spiritual support.
• Evaluate the impact of outreach and worship programs through feedback, attendance, and engagement metrics, and adjust strategies as needed.
• You will work with the pastors and the unit leaders in training the volunteers and lay preachers, providing religious education to children, youths and adults through biblical preaching and teaching
• Manage allocated budget to ensure that financial reports are presented to the financial team monthly and/or when required
• Prepare media projection, videos, props, interviews, and other elements to enhance worship
• Prepare Inventory and maintain all materials, supplies, musical instruments, sound system, video and other support equipment in an orderly fashion
Person Specification
• Strong Christian faith, values and beliefs are essential for this role.
• A deep understanding of scripture, theology, and faith traditions, with the ability to communicate these effectively in worship and outreach contexts.
• Proven experience in leading, motivating, and developing volunteers, worship teams, and outreach initiatives.
• Previous experience in a ministry or pastoral role, particularly in leading worship services, conducting ceremonies, and offering spiritual guidance.
• Experience planning and executing community events, including concerts, service projects, or faith-based workshops.
• Familiarity with modern worship technologies, such as audio-visual equipment and church management software.
• Approachable and welcoming, with a heart for building relationships and supporting others in their spiritual journey.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively with church members, community members, and other stakeholders.
• Strong planning and organisational abilities to manage multiple programs, events, and outreach initiatives simultaneously.
• A commitment to personal spiritual growth, prayer, reflection, and the ability to support the spiritual development of others.
• DBS certification is required.
