Overview of role: As an early years practitioner you will interact, supervise, and keep the children safe and happy as well as supporting the nursery team in the day to day running of the nursery and keeping with nursery policies and procedures. Key details: Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Shifts to be confirmed at interview - may start as early as 7.30am) All Year Round (52 weeks) Wage: £6.40 per hour Location: 79-80 Littleworth, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, NG18 2RT Apprenticeship details: Qualification: Level 3 Early Years Duration of course: 19 months Training Provider: LMP Education (Rated No 1 Training Provider in the UK) All learning delivered online/ remotely alongside role. Full Duties and Responsibilities: As an Early Years Practitioner, you will be expected safeguard and always support their wellbeing and follow the nursery policies and procedures. You will deliver activities; contribute to planning (may be responsible for an area of planning); conduct observations/recording the learning of the children. You will also be responsible for a key worker group which you develop good relationships with and support their development and new steps. You will liaise and regularly communicate with parents, particularly the ones in your key group and will be asked to take part in parent consultations. When working within the nursery you will assist with the preparation and maintenance of the equipment and work closely with your room leader and other staff. During the children’s lunch and snack, you may need to help with the dishing up, preparation of food and clearing away of equipment as well as supporting the children when needed with eating (food prep will require food safety qualification). Depending on the age of the child you may need to assist with their toileting needs and care e.g., changing nappies, feeding, and comforting. Have a key worker group responsible for their learning and assessments, such as learning journey books and next steps, while also supporting all other children in the nursery. Contribute to planning and assessment. Adhere to the policies and procedures of Little Chiefs Day Nurseries and comply with the Child Protection Act, all health and safety legislation, as well as the guidelines of Ofsted and National Standards. Work as part of a team, supporting members of staff and children in the nursery (including cleaning/daily chores). Share the responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
