Description:
As part of the CLaY: Communities, Libraries and You project, we are recruiting volunteers to support Chess Groups in libraries with a focus on adult wellbeing.
We are looking for friendly individuals who feel confident in welcoming new members to groups, sharing knowledge, teaching others, and engaging participants who want to get involved. Volunteers will help people meet new friends and raise awareness of the groups within local communities. Resources, materials, and equipment for groups, as well as free tea and coffee, will be provided.
Relevant induction and support will be provided. If you feel that you could support Stoke-on-Trent Libraries in setting up Chess groups, we would love you to become one of our volunteers.
We are looking for:
* a friendly person with great social skills
* someone who is warm and caring and can engage well with people
* someone with patience and good listening skills
* someone with knowledge and skills in the given field
* someone who applies their own initiative and creativity
* commitment of as little as 2 hours per week
