Serco are recruiting for a Health Record Porters to join their current team based at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. The key purpose of the role is to provide a comprehensive, quality, efficient and cost-effective Portering service within the whole of the Hospital, in line with contractual requirements ensuring patient care and customer service being at the forefront of service provision.
Main Accountabilities:
- As the Health Record Porter you will Ensure that all Back of House Portering functions are undertaken in a professional, competent and safe manner. You will be responsible for collecting Health Records and delivering patient notes and for the Collection/transfer of patients notes on a prescribed schedule.
- You will support the Porter Patient Ambassador to ensure full service is maintained, assist in maintaining appropriate records and ensure all Portering equipment is in a clean and hygienic condition. You will also be expected to Undertake any other tasks/duties as identified by the Patient Ambassador, Service Manager or Soft Services Lead
What you’ll need to do the role:
- This is a physical role and the post-holder will be required to be mobile for the majority of their working day with manual handling being necessary to lift / carry
- NVQ or Equivalent Qualification.
- Ability to read, write and converse clearly in English.
- Basic awareness of Health & Safety working practices.
- Previous experience working within a hospital or service environment.
- Customer service skills including clear verbal communication.
- Understand the importance of patient care, infection control and safety.
- IT Literate to support innovation.
- Flexible approach to working shift patterns
- Ability to work within a busy environment and under pressure
- Present a professional image
- Full UK Driving License.
