A global, manufacturing business is seeking a Sustainability & EHS Director to be based near their Nottingham office, with a flexible, hybrid working pattern.
Reporting into the C-Suite and managing an international team, you will deliver and execute their sustainability strategy and be responsible for all environmental, health and safety initiatives across all their global productions sites.
Key duties will include:
Create and deliver the sustainability strategy to reduce the company’s environmental impact and ensure they are aligned to global standards.
Lead sustainability reporting and environmental assessments, including carbon emissions, waste management, water, energy etc…
Ensure EHS culture is maintained and developed, with standardisation across the multi-national organisation.
Lead central and local teams to design and manage EHS programmes, providing a safe, compliant and healthy workplace.
Oversee all regulatory compliance and risk management to industry standards.
Lead the preparation, submission and management of regulatory permits, plus maintain current ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO50001 accreditations.
Lead incident management investigation and reporting, including EHS incidents and environment non-compliance, review causes and implement corrective procedures, creating an environment of continuous improvement.
Manage internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
Candidates MUST have:
1. Successful track record in a similar role, covering both sustainability and EHS, ideally within the manufacturing or aviation industry.
2. Strong knowledge of the relevant regulations and frameworks applicable to the role.
3. Good people management experience, ideally managing international teams.
4. Good project management experience.
5. Commitment to delivering the highest standards of EHS and to a culture of continuous improvement.
6. Good stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
7. Demonstrable experience with EHS and Sustainability standards, e.g. ISO14001/45001, NEBOSH, GRI or ISSB.
Desirable are:
1. Experience working in automotive, aviation, aerospace, transportation manufacturing or shipbuilding industries.
2. French, Polish, Hindi or Mandarin language skills.
3. Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
This role will require occasional travel to UK and global sites, with time spent in a manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will join an exciting business and will receive a basic salary of up to £110,000, good bonus, pension, private medical, plus a broad range of extra benefits.
