A Global Motorsport Manufacturing Company based in Coventry is seeking an Application Support Specialist to join their team on a permanent basis. This position will specialize in Material/Manufacturing (SAP MM/PP) module enhancements from customer requirement gathering, detailed analysis, solutions, configuration, testing, documentation, and user training based on defined timelines.

Their core competencies include the development and manufacture of complex mechanisms and body hardware, suspension systems, and body structural components, as well as the design, engineering, and development of lightweight composite automotive systems. They have a comprehensive development team supporting the company's manufacturing divisions while also providing contract engineering services to a variety of outside customers. Their engineering has design, analysis, electronics, vehicle dynamics, and testing capabilities and closely collaborates with in-house prototype and tooling, enabling a highly efficient product development process. They also develop products for major automotive OEMs and a growing number of niche vehicle manufacturers.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role acts as the first and second line of support for the SAP system and the company's proprietary software (web apps + Inventory Management system), with the ability to escalate issues to IT Technical/development teams if required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate the implementation and support of SAP MM/PP for all divisions/plants corporation-wide.
2. Interpret and validate customer/business process requirements; perform detailed analysis of complex business process requirements; identify gaps and provide appropriate solutions; design, customize, configure, and test the solutions in MM/PP areas with integrations with other SAP modules and legacy systems.
3. Provide training to users from various departments to ensure their understanding of the systems/processes/functions that they are required to use.
4. Proficient in Standard PO and PSA (Purchasing Scheduling Agreement) processes and configuration in SAP.
5. Proficient in investigating receiving variances and has the ability to explain why and where the variance is coming from.
6. Coordinate with FICO to ensure all material characteristics are available and passed over to COPA.
7. Support purchasing and material departments with their daily activities and issues from material planning, scheduling, purchasing, receiving to invoicing and payment.
8. Great understanding of SAP PP in order to support the following business processes in the discrete manufacturing industry: BOM, routing, MRP, planned/production orders, planning (scheduling, capacity planning, confirmation), make-to-order production, and support divisions/plants with day-to-day issues.
9. Help to develop and implement “best practices” to ensure the most “optimum” process/operation across divisions/plants.
10. Review submitted requests for changes; evaluate what, if any, impact it may have on other customer programs, processes, departments, or divisions; provide functional/technical documents for customization/development and user manuals; complete deployment with testing and user training.
11. Provide support for other legacy systems and processes.
12. Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Business Solutions Manager.
Basic Requirements:
1. University degree.
2. Relevant SAP Functional and/or Academy Training/Certification.
3. Minimum of 5 years experience in a production support role.
4. Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
5. SAP S/4 Hana experience is an asset.
6. Extensive knowledge of SAP MM and its integration with PP, PM, QM.
7. Knowledge of accounting and costing is a benefit.
8. Familiar with mass data loading and updates using standard SAP functions, including LSMW experience.
9. Familiar with Automotive EDI – 862, 830, 810, 850, 997, 856 is an asset.
10. An individual performer with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
11. A good team player with excellent communication and organization skills.
