The Trust is seeking a Locum Specialty Doctor to work with the South Wiltshire Intensive Service. This is a great opportunity to gain a wealth of experience and knowledge within an established multi-disciplinary team that prioritizes collaborative work with patients at the center of practice. The service provides a secondary assessment facility and a monitoring service for those requiring crisis management and home treatment.
This post will provide support and clinical assistance to the Consultant Psychiatrist concerning the care of patients.
Salisbury has a weekly Academic programme, a monthly PDP group, and Peer Supervision. CPD activities are supported, and the post offers study leave arrangements along with good research, service development, and leadership opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
1. Undertake urgent and crisis psychiatric assessments when necessary.
2. Liaise with GPs regarding service users' medical monitoring results.
3. Liaise with other parts of the service and GPs and non-NHS organisations wherever applicable.
4. Provide advice and consultation to members of the multi-disciplinary teams and regularly attend MDT meetings.
5. Ensure effective and timely documentation and communication of clinical decision making and management plans.
6. Support the Consultant Psychiatrists in complex case management.
7. Seek Section 12 approval, although this is not a requirement of the post.
