Job Advertisement: Level 2 or 3 SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a Level 2 or Level 3 qualified SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team in South Shields. This role involves working closely with teachers and support staff to assist students with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND.
* Assist with planning and delivering differentiated learning activities.
* Support students’ emotional, social, and academic development.
* Implement individual learning plans (IEPs) and EHCPs.
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for students.
* Foster an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
* Assist with personal care and mobility needs (if required).
Requirements:
* Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
* Experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or other additional needs.
* Knowledge of SEND strategies, including Makaton, PECS, or sensory integration (desirable).
* A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting students.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
