Plant / Auxiliary Technician
Location: Rochester, Kent
Shifts: Monday to Friday | Alternating Weekly Shifts (06:00–14:00 / 11:00–19:00)
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 DOE
Holt Recruitment is proud to be working on behalf of a leading employer within the industrial services and plant maintenance sector. Our client is currently looking to expand their engineering team with the addition of a skilled Plant / Auxiliary Technician to be based at their Rochester workshop.

Role Overview
This is a workshop-based role with occasional requirement to attend breakdowns as and when required. You’ll be responsible for the service, repair, and maintenance of heavy plant and specialist tanker equipment, supporting the workshop team and ensuring machinery is kept in top condition.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a range of heavy plant and ancillary equipment
Service and maintain tanker bodies and associated systems
Attend and resolve breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner, as required
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
Complete all service sheets and job cards accurately
Adhere to company health and safety procedures at all times
Communicate effectively with both workshop management and the wider operations team
Support training and staff development initiatives as requiredAbout You
Previous experience working on tanker bodies, plant machinery, or similar equipment
Confident diagnosing and repairing faults with hydraulics, pneumatics, and 12/24v systems
Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on attitude
Committed to health and safety best practice
Organised and able to maintain a clean and efficient workspaceDesired Qualifications / Skills
NVQ, City & Guilds or similar in Plant or Mechanical Maintenance
HGV licence beneficial but not essential
Experience with computer-based diagnostics and modern vehicle systems is desirableBenefits
