An exciting opportunity has arisen for Sexual Health Nurses with extensive experience of working autonomously to join our Integrated Sexual Health team, working across Northumberland and North Tyneside. Successful candidates will be experienced in fitting IUDs and implants and must be able to demonstrate proven, relevant, post-registration professional knowledge, supplemented by specialist training and experience.

Provide integrated sexual health to patients aged 13 and upwards from a diverse range of cultural and social backgrounds.
Work as autonomous practitioner within nurse led clinical sessions and issue medications/treatments in accordance with local care pathways and Patient Group Directions and in accordance with the NMC Administration of Medicines guidance.
Provide evidence-based advice to patients and other healthcare professionals.
Work collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of clinical sessions across the geography of Northumberland and North Tyneside.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. This specialty trained post holder will be confident and skilled to provide full integrated sexual health care, at either base site or at outreach clinical sessions. working alongside colleagues, or as the only practitioner.
There is a requirement that there will be good time management of consultations and of clinical sessions.
Ability to use supervisory skills to support newly appointed staff and students on placements.
Undertake training as necessary in line with the development of this post.
Work within allocated resources
Participate in research and audit as necessary to role.
