If you are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young LGBT*Q+ people, this LGBT*Q+ Youth Worker role could be the perfect fit for you.
You will be part of a supportive youth work team, delivering face-to-face sessions that draw on our youth work curriculum and your own experiences to connect with and inspire young LGBT*Q+ people. As a youth work team, you will create fun, inclusive activities like social education activities, sports, arts, and social action, helping young people grow in confidence, independence, and creativity.
Building strong relationships and understanding safeguarding is key in this role.
You will initially be working mainly with our Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds youth groups.
You will take the lead in running specific sessional activities, ensuring a safe and welcoming space, while offering mentorship and supporting young people with their personal projects and development.
You will need:
Level 2 Youth Work qualification (or willing to work towards).
Previous youth work experience.
Lived experience as a LGBT*Q+ person.
An understanding of the confidentiality and safeguarding requirements of the role.
A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice.
Be positive and motivated
Ability to travel across Suffolk.
Outreach Youth support and works with young LGBT*Q+ people to realise their full potential.
