As part of continued long-term digital transformation, they are looking to grow their permanent technology team. They have an immediate requirement for an IT Asset Manager to join their Digital Services team which currently numbers around 200. They employ over 1100 staff across all departments.
About this Role:
As the IT Asset Management (ITAM) Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing all IT asset management activities across the organization. Your role will involve optimizing the management of IT assets throughout their lifecycle, from acquisition to disposal. Collaborating closely with Product Managers, you will ensure that they have the right IT assets to meet current and future needs while minimizing costs, risks, and waste.
Your focus will be on maximizing IT asset value and return on investment by aligning assets with business objectives, reducing unnecessary spending, and identifying opportunities for reuse and redeployment.
Additionally, you will minimize IT asset risks and liabilities through proper security, maintenance, and disposal practices, while effectively tracking and reporting on inventory, usage, and ownership. By providing accurate and reliable data and insights on asset performance, costs, and trends, you will support IT asset governance and strategy, empowering informed decision-making and planning processes across the organization.
Main Duties:
1. Oversee the asset discovery process to identify all IT assets within the organization.
2. Develop and implement an effective asset management strategy.
3. Build, maintain, and regularly update the company's IT asset inventory (including but not limited to hardware, software, and certificate inventory).
4. Evaluate the organization's asset requirements and coordinate their acquisition.
5. Create, implement, and optimize policies for the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of assets.
6. Ensure assets are compliant with organizational policies throughout their lifecycle.
7. Manage day-to-day asset processes including inbound/outbound deliveries and stock control.
8. Build and maintain strong stakeholder engagement with Service Desk, Procurement, IT Enablement, Estates, and Domain teams.
9. Continuous improvement of inventory management processes and practices.
10. Develop opportunities for asset management in other areas within RoS and develop strategies to extend our principles and practices into those areas.
11. Knowledge Base articles to be created, regularly reviewed, and updated for each process.
