Job Overview
The role of Test Engineering Solutions Specialist involves delivering engineering solutions in a Test House environment, ensuring day-to-day testing support and resolving faults.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver suitable engineering solutions for test requirements.
* Cover investigation and resolution of day-to-day faults with test equipment, identifying root causes and implementing effective fixes.
* Program logging systems to automate test routines and improve efficiency.
* Investigate and resolve electrical, software, and mechanical issues on testbeds and rigs.
* Specify, cost, plan, and deliver upgrades to test facilities to enhance capabilities.
* Evaluate and secure services from sub-contractors.
* Enhance departmental resources and capability by maintaining records and writing procedures.
* Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
Key Requirements
* Extensive experience in automotive powertrain and rig/component testing.
* A solid understanding of internal combustion engines and engine test methodology.
* Programming expertise in control loops, PID controllers, and automated test routines.
* Experience in specifying and delivering test facility upgrades.
* Proven ability to work effectively with sub-contractors.
* Strong writing skills, including the creation of specifications, procedures, and documentation.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as C or Visual Basic.
* Knowledge of electronic and electrical circuit design principles.
