Workshop Engineering Technician
Location: Northampton
Day shift: Monday to Friday
45 hours per week, either 6am - 3:30pm or 8am - 5:30pm
Permanent position
I'm currently working with and on behalf of my client to secure qualified, highly skilled and motivated HGV Technicians for their workshop in the Northampton area.
The role:
You will be carrying out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet, including main dealer heavy goods vehicles (HGV's), road tankers, tractor units, trailers, gritters, RCV's, refuge vehicles, Diesel, and EV vehicles.
The type of work you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to):
1. Routine (and preventative) maintenance
2. MOT preparation
3. Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
4. 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
5. Correction of running defects
6. Chassis and fabrication work
7. Hydraulics and pneumatics
8. Improvement of vehicle standards
9. Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections
We are looking for qualified and time-served HGV Technicians who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics.
You can expect to be situated in a positive and vibrant working environment where your efforts will be rewarded. A skills shortage can be trained by way of upskilling. What cannot be trained, however, is the right attitude and the desire to give your clients a first-class service.
Benefits:
• Overtime available
• Standby and call out fees additional to these rates
• 25 days on holiday plus Bank Holidays
• Enhanced pension plans and Healthcare
Requirements:
Ideally, you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent. Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable, as would an HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence.
So, what are you waiting for? Get in touch for further details and start that next journey in your career. We're just a click away; apply with your CV.
