Job responsibilities
Role Summary
This role will assess the creation of a new division whose focus will be finding opportunities from the development of a new model of care for at-scale provision of Same Day Primary Care and the monitoring, reporting and expansion of NHUC's existing primary care contracts. These currently comprise PCN Enhanced Access services and Target Day support, the Virtual Care at Home service, our seasonal Flu response and support to several local Community Hospitals and Hospices.
Additionally, NHUC is developing a real strength as an Education and Training provider, both in support to trainee GPs, Psychologists and other HCPs, but also through the delivery of educational programmes, such as our Urgent Care Conference. Much of this training is currently internal and delivered in an ad-hoc manner, but in the future, could be developed to generate income.
The assessment for supporting local PCNs will be done through rapidly conducting a situational analysis, and establishing relationships across the patch, enabling the production of a detailed business plan within the first 100 days, outlining and prioritising potential areas of business with the income stream potential from each with a realistic timeline for wider consideration.
Each potential opportunity will then be turned into an outline business case for presentation to NHUC's internal project review board and those that are approved will then need a full business case, contract discussions and operationalising in order to generate income and give excellent patient experience.
