Geotechnical Design Engineering - Offshore Wind Foundations - UK
Opportunity for Principal / Lead Geotechnical Engineer - Offshore/ Marine to play a leading role in the design of major offshore wind farms, specifically in foundations design.
Essential Qualifications:
* Degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Structural Engineering, Geology, or Engineering Geology.
* Experience in Offshore/ Marine engineering, specifically in Offshore Wind &/ Oil & Gas.
* Experience of geotechnical calculations.
* Offshore Foundation design experience (e.g., O&G or Wind or Marine).
* 7 years of experience in offshore geotechnical engineering with a solid understanding of the discipline.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Knowledge in geotechnics, structures, and dynamics of offshore foundations (Wind /O&G).
* Familiarity with Foundation Design Software (e.g., GRLWEAP, OPile, PLAXIS, LPile).
* Experience with GIS and geophysical methods.
* Chartered Engineer status or willingness to pursue chartership.
* Ability to lead and mentor engineers.
* Experience in using advanced calculation models and FE-modelling.
Role Responsibilities:
Working closely with clients, contractors, and developers, the projects include the detailed design of offshore wind farms in the UK and Europe. You will lead, participate, and potentially manage projects from conceptual studies through to detailed design, along with follow-up monitoring and assessment.
Projects are carried out in close collaboration with other departments and specialists, fostering innovation within the geotechnical field. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to manage the daily demands of a multidisciplinary design team.
Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to the ongoing development of both technical resources and professional growth are expected.
