Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for a Nurse manager to join our oncology and Haematology helpline at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. The Nurse manager will be responsible for delivering the Helpline oncology and haematology service. They will provide a learning culture, delivering evidence based practice and co-ordinating the multidisciplinary teams to provide high quality patient experience. They will lead in clinical practice in the department, ensuring that clinical standards are upheld and best practice is followed at all times. You must have strong leadership and managerial skills as well as skills in developing services and staff. You must have substantial experience in oncology/haematology with the skills and knowledge of delivering SACT. You must be able to motivate and lead the whole team to ensure holistic and high quality care is delivered to patients and their families. Main duties of the job To provide professional nursing leadership for the helpline team. To provide focus and vision for the nursing activity for the helpline and to lead the nursing. The post holder has 24 hour responsibility for the day to day management of the helpline team To be able to select, develop and motivate a team. To lead a team towards local, divisional and Trust objectives. To recognise, prevent and defuse potential areas of conflict and take a key role in themanagement of the outcomes. To be able to prepare and present reasoned discussion based on facts, convince othersand resolve claims for competing resources. To work within the NMC code of professional practice and within policies, proceduresand guidelines of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust.
