As a project engineer, we will be helping us to deliver our solutions into live operational service for our suite of products across our entire customer portfolio. Being part of a dedicated team deploying NEC Software Solutions (NEC SWS) into sites across the UK, Ireland, Europe and beyond.
Job roles & responsibilities :
1. Build, Commissioning, and upgrades of NEC Software Solutions bespoke Communication and CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) products solutions into our customer environments.
2. Fault finding our product suite of solution/s at both hardware and software levels.
3. When required, create, review and update NEC Engineering documentation, for example workplans, work instructions and technical guides.
4. The role holder will be required to work professionally in liaison with several internal teams to coordinate various activities and gather / provide information required to complete the tasks at hand.
5. The role is primarily completed on customer sites as demand requires, therefore you will be expected to work from a variety of locations and extensive travel should be expected, including overnight stays.
6. The role holder would need to accept a company car, within the allotted band for business travel.
7. The role can involve extensive customer contact on both a technical and non-technical level requiring a professional and adaptable approach to communication and interaction / service.
8. The role will require working both in a team and, potentially autonomously where projects dictate a limited engineering requirement. An increasing level of autonomy is typically achieved after some time in post and suitable experience has been gained.
9. Continually follow and adhere to NEC Software Solutions outlined process & procedures.
10. Complete all activities within set deadlines and report appropriately any difficulties to achieve delivery milestones.
11. Present a professional approach and attitude to all work undertaken.
12. Promote a clean working environment. Adhere to all Health and Safety practices, rules and regulations.
Qualifications
13. Ideally educated to HND/HNC level or relevant industry experience in a comparable role/s.
14. Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving
15. A good understanding of Microsoft active directory / domain architecture
16. Proven experience of administering and working with Microsoft Windows 11, Windows Server up to 2022
17. Proven Experience deploying Microsoft Windows and server Operating systems
18. Proven Experience deploying Microsoft Windows Updates (WSUS)
19. Working knowledge of MySQL/MSSQL (running backups, running queries, etc)
20. Proven knowledge and experience of virtualisation environments (Hyper-V or VMware)
21. MS Business Applications experience including Excel, Visio, Word
22. Excellent customer service skills
23. Proven experience working to ITIL best practices.
