Purpose
To be part of an agile software team tasked with developing an innovative intelligent water management system. We are looking for software testers who can demonstrate an all-round ability and enthusiasm to add value to both the team and product.
Reporting
Reports to Software Development Manager
Responsibilities
• Work as part of a dynamic, innovative, Agile team environment and contribute to the team’s continual improvement
• Lead initial design discussions, helping to shape requirements for the Platform
• Participation in daily Stand-ups, Planning Meetings, Retrospectives, Show & Tells
• Contribute high quality software artefacts to the i2O Water Platform, according to the team’s DONE definition
• Help team members progress toward their professional development goals
• Suggest extensions/improvements to functionality where appropriate
• Strive to Automate tests where possible and establish the tests within an overall Continuous Integration (CI) environment
• Occasional “out of hours” working may be required to complete specific tasks
• Observe complete confidentiality at all times
Desired/Essential Attributes
• BSc (or higher) in a computing or scientific/engineering discipline
• Strong Software Test skills:
o +2 years Test experience
o Reviewing Software Specifications
o Writing and executing Test Scripts and Plans
o Defect reporting
o Web testing
o Test Automation
• Good working knowledge of Test approaches
o Functional testing
o Performance testing
o Stress testing
o Test Tools
• Pragmatic and proactive attitude towards testing software
• Key skills in communication, both writing for our Wiki and verbal with team members and stakeholders
• Testing of Enterprise Level Systems, Platforms or Solutions
• A desire to solve difficult problems for real users
• Excellent attention to detail
• A desire to be the best in one’s field and a passion to keep abreast of current and future trends in the profession
• An ability to solve problems creatively with an analytical approach
