The REACT team at Stoke Mandeville Hospital is looking for a Physiotherapist who is passionate about the assessment, treatment, and discharge planning of patients who present to the front door of Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Come and join the team covering the ward areas surrounding the Accident and Emergency Department as well as the Acute Medical Unit and the new Emergency Medical Receiving Unit (E.M.R.U.).
The REACT team provides very high-quality assessments in order to establish robust and swift rehabilitation and discharge plans for the patients under their care. The team is made up of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nursing staff, and Band 4 Clinical Support Workers. We also work very closely with the Discharge Coordinators, Hospital Social Workers, Speech and Language Therapists, and Dieticians.
This is a very friendly, supportive, and dynamic team with regular integrated individual supervision and training, appraisal, CPD, and use of outcome measures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To undertake assessments of patients with complex and diverse presentations taking into account their social needs outside of the hospital.
2. To undertake advanced, comprehensive, and where applicable, standardised assessments in the clinical areas stated.
3. To participate within simple and complex rehabilitation and contribute to its function.
4. To use clinical reasoning skills and knowledge of evidence-based practice to determine treatment plans using a wide range of treatment skills and options.
5. To analyse and interpret clinical and non-clinical information to form an accurate plan for a wide range of conditions, with guidance from Therapists within the team and the MDT when appropriate.
