Job summary Portfield School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to join our therapy team. The successful candidate will work with students who have autism and other complex associated complexities. In addition to their work within the school, the Clinical Psychologist will also participate in monthly assessment sessions at our assessment centre collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to assess children for a diagnosis of autism. This role would be to support three days a week. Main duties of the job A day in the life of a Clinical Psychologist would include: Providing individual and group psychological interventions for students aged 4-19 with autism and other complex special needs. Conducting psychological assessments, including cognitive and behavioural evaluations, to inform individualised learning Plans. Working collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, and other school staff to support the emotional and psychological well-being of students. Developing and implement behaviour management plans and strategies to support students learning and development with the behaviour support team. Providing training and support to school staff and parents on topics related to autism and other special needs. Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and social workers. Maintaining accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and progress. Attending monthly assessment sessions at the assessment centre, contributing to the diagnosis process for children referred for autism assessments.
