* The UTC will work off a 20-minute appointment template, seeing 3 patients per hour on average.

Were seeking Clinical Practitioners to join our brand new clinically led team of health care professionals to work within the Urgent Treatment Centre at Ipswich Hospital due to open May 2024.
The purpose built, state of the art Urgent Treatment Centre will allow for Suffolk GP Federation and ESNEFT staff to work collaboratively across fully equipped clinic rooms, allowing a true multi-disciplinary workforce. The UTC will provide the new front door service at Ipswich Hospital, and will allow for the quick assessment and direction of patients to the appropriate care, maximising the ability to stream patients who would otherwise attend the Emergency Department directly.

Contract type:
The service is delivered in a way that allows you to design your own rota, to fit around other commitments and preferences. There will be the possibility for casual work on an ad hoc basis or if you're after something more concrete, the option for contracted shifts on a regular basis. The choice is yours; we want to allow our clinicians to build their own schedule!
Youll be fully supported by an administration team, senior management, and our rota team to allow you to focus on delivering high quality patient care.

Job Purpose:
The Clinical Practitioner will be responsible for the delivery of a safe and effective clinical response for people in Suffolk accessing our urgent care services; Out of Hours, GP+ and ED Streaming. The post holder will identify and provide the correct care and necessary treatment for individual patients to meet their presenting needs. This role will support appropriate patient care and ensure that flow is maintained across urgent and emergency care services within Suffolk. The Clinical Practitioner is a key member of the Urgent Care team and will be expected to provide comprehensive care to patients. The Clinical Practitioner will work effectively with all colleagues within the team to deliver high quality patient centred care.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
The post holder will be an experienced nurse / paramedic acting within their professional boundaries. They will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the service, working within their level of competency.
To hold a professional qualification in prescribing, and to prescribe for all patients as appropriate.
To provide clinical care to patients accessing our urgent care services. This may include consultation sessions, referring onwards and home visits.
To work closely with the wider urgent care teams in delivering high quality patient centred clinical care.
To ensure on-going CPD to keep abreast of new clinical developments and maintain an appreciation of the commitments and requirements of the wider clinical workforce.
To provide appropriate health promotion and prevention health care advice to all patients attending the Service.
Engage in the revalidation process and appraisal processes as relevant.
To prioritise work and deliver appropriate management of care.
Person Specification
Qualifications & Training:
* Registered Nurse
* Recognised nurse practitioner qualification
Knowledge & Experience:
* An experienced nurse with a proven track record of working in primary care, or urgent care services.
* Experienced prescriber
* Competent and able to maintain own up to date clinical knowledge
Skills & Abilities:
* Able to provide high quality personal clinical services
* Clear written and verbal communication skills
* Able to work to a schedule, and keep to appointment times
