As the public face of our properties, you’ll provide a warm, friendly welcome, give information about the property, answer questions and make sure everyone has an enjoyable and memorable visit.
Salary: £11.64 per hour
Contract: Fixed term contract until 28th September 2025
Hours: This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You'll work 390 hours over the duration of the contract and on average, you'll work 15 hours per week (2 days) but again, this will be flexible depending on operational demand.
The role will include weekend and bank holiday working but no evenings or split shifts.
Interview date: Wednesday 19th & Thursday 20th March 2025
We’re currently undertaking our pay review process and it is likely that this salary will be increased from 1st April 2025.
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.
What it's like to work here
You'll mainly be based at Fell Foot, but you may also be working at other nearby locations with prior arrangement.
You'll join the Welcome Team, representing the face of our organisation. We often say that a visitor could spend the entire day on National Trust land without realising it. Our mission is to change that by offering a warm, engaging welcome and providing helpful advice that can turn an enjoyable day into an unforgettable one.
What you'll be doing
Day to day, you’ll be moving around the park, chatting with our visitors and providing a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll ensure visitors have the information they need, share the work of the National Trust and grow support through promoting memberships and fundraising.
The Welcome Team is also responsible for ensuring the site is presented to a high standard which includes cleaning the facilities, litter picking and sign checks.
As this is an outdoors role, you'll need to be comfortable being on your feet and working in all weather conditions.
