Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for a PHP Developer to join our established Development Team. The successful applicant must have a passion for writing clean, secure and testable code, and a commitment to ongoing professional development. The role requires significant experience of Object-Oriented Software design principles and best practices and a good understanding of SQL and database normalisation. You will also need to have a working knowledge of javascript. PHP, JavaScript and MySQL applications form the core of all of Namesco's systems, including the email and web hosting infrastructures. As such, an understanding of the protocols underlying these internet technologies, such as HTTP, SMTP, FTP, SSH, TLS and DNS would be beneficial.
They will be working with sensitive and business-critical data which also requires a thorough understanding of security and data integrity issues on the Internet. Some knowledge of dependency and package management solutions for both PHP and JavaScript would be helpful, and an understanding of asynchronous JavaScript using promises would be a bonus. The successful applicant will have an enthusiastic attitude for their work with significant commercial experience in creating secure, high-performance web applications.
Required skills and experience
15. Extensive knowledge of Object Orientated PHP.
16. Solid understanding of software design patterns, principles and best practices.
17. Ability to write modular, reusable code, without relying on frameworks.
18. Ability to develop frontend solutions using JavaScript and AJAX .
19. Relational databases and SQL.
20. Unit testing with PHPUnit.
21. Good understanding of security issues on the internet.

Working Hours:
The normal hours of the business are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive. Some flexibility can be offered in start and finish times as per discussion with the hiring manager.
For the first two-four weeks training will be provided, on a full-time basis from our offices in Worcester, UK, which may be open for a discussion.
Following initial training, we will offer hybrid working which can be discussed with the hiring manager.
