Pay: To scale for long term positions

We are ideally looking for someone who possesses the below traits and experiences:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English
2. PGCE successfully completed
3. Experience teaching English Language and English Literature in a UK secondary school
4. Experience and confidence with planning and marking
5. Ability to teach up to and including A-Level (desirable but not essential)
6. Confident behaviour management techniques and a strong classroom presence
7. Demonstrate a strong subject knowledge and understanding of the UK national curriculum for English Language and Literature
8. Excellent school-based references
9. Ability to commit to a full-time position ASAP
10. Enhanced, child-only DBS (on the update service), or be willing to obtain one
You will be responsible for:
1. Planning and delivering high-quality English lessons catering to a range of year groups and abilities
2. Differentiating each lesson to suit the individual needs within your classes
3. Ensuring the best academic outcomes from Year 7- Year 13 English Language and English Literature
4. Collaborating successfully with colleagues within the department to ensure it is a high-performing subject within the school
5. Communicating effectively with staff and pupils alike, creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
6. Promoting equal opportunities and ensuring every student is able to thrive
7. Assessing pupils' progress in a timely manner on a regular basis and providing them with both written and verbal feedback, conducive to their learning
8. Contributing to the wider school community through active engagement with extracurricular activities, parents' evenings, etc.
