What you'll be doing;
Operate and monitor waste-fired boiler, generator and auxiliary plant systems under STL supervision, including fault diagnosis.
Control room operations and equipment handling including refuse crane and mobile plant.
Ensure compliance with PPC Permit requirements and report incidents to STL.
Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and data collection.
Follow all safety protocols, health & safety policies and site procedures.
Manage inventory of consumables and handle waste residue collection.
Provide support to company staff and contractors as needed.
Maintain environmental and quality standards while pursuing ongoing professional development.
What we're looking for;
Proficient in IT with understanding of environmental and health & safety regulations
Experience in mechanical & electrical plant operations, preferably in an engineering role
Hold relevant NVQ qualification for the position
Previous experience in continuous process environments and shift work
Capable of operating or learning to operate various mobile equipment and fixed plant
Self-motivated and able to prioritise
Excellent team player with strong written and verbal communication abilities
Demonstrates flexibility, problem-solving skills, and commitment to professional development
