Job Title: Electrical Integration Design Engineer
Salary: up to £40,000 per annum dependent upon experience
Location: Portsmouth
We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world's leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as an Electrical Integration Design Engineer. The role will be based in Portsmouth but offers the opportunity for hybrid working and flexible working hours. Individual circumstances can be discussed.

Working as part of the Design Services- Electrical team, their engineers have a variety of backgrounds, coming from a combination of Industry, Armed Forces and through their own Apprenticeship Schemes. Working in tandem with their Structures, HVAC, Mechanical and Safety Teams they provide through life electrical engineering support to all Royal Naval Surface Fleet, Royal Fleet Auxiliary and Submarine Platforms.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Producing Integration Design Solutions for the introduction of new equipment into Maritime Platforms, activities consisting of:
1. Liaison with MoD Customer and Industry Partners throughout the Design process
2. Ship Survey(s)
3. Production of an Installation Solution Pack consisting of Electrical/System Drawings, Penetrations, Cable Data Sheets, Bill of Materials and associated Installation Instructions
2. Production of Ship Feasibility studies
3. Liaise with MoD and Industry Partners in the development of Integration Requirements
4. Undertake Ship Surveys in support of Equipment Material State Reports, Equipment Configuration Control and Ship Power and Load Chart Management
5. Configuring and Maintaining Ship Databases for Electrical Power Distribution and Blown Fibre Networks
6. Support Ship-build electrical detailed design activities across the Business
7. Provide a technical input to the Product Safety of Design Services deliverables

About You:
1. Knowledge of Electrical Systems theory
2. Interpret and apply Electrical Design Standards
3. Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
Desirable:
1. Working knowledge of Electrical Installation Practices and Electrical Distribution Systems
2. ONC/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
3. Familiarity of AUTOCAD & FORAN toolsets
You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and, therefore, must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years.
