The Student Wellbeing service at Kingston University is seeking a Senior Mental Health & Disability Adviser to work within a team of Disability and Mental Health Advisers, supporting and deputising for the Disability and Mental Health Service Manager.
You will help lead the delivery of a specialist advice and guidance service that enables students to access & succeed in their academic studies. You will supervise the work of the Disability and Mental Health Advisers, act as a key liaison for internal & external colleagues and ensure compliance with relevant policies and legal obligations.
The Person
We are seeking to appoint an experienced professional with substantial experience within the field of disability support for students (ideally within a higher education environment).
You will have significant experience in navigating and operationalising the relevant legal, regulatory & policy frameworks and in applying these to complex student cases with well developed case working and problem solving skills.
You will have the ability to supervise, develop and support a group of staff including managing both their and your own workloads & priorities.

This Directorate plays a vital role in the retention and success of students at Kingston University. By taking a holistic, cohesive approach to the effective provision of services to our 17,000 students, we aim to enhance their experience through support that is effective and also responsive to their changing needs.
The Student Services team provides the University’s first and second line services for students incorporating the Information Centre, Library and Learning Services, Specialist Course Support and Administration, Student Engagement and Student Life, Health and Wellbeing. Services are designed to be accessible and inclusive of all students, to ensure their enquiries are resolved quickly and support is available to enable them to fully engage with and succeed in their studies.

This is a full-time, fixed term position for 1 year with a starting salary of £44,154 per annum.
