St Margaret of Scotland Hospice provides high quality care to the older person, the terminally ill and others with particular medical needs. The Hospice has first class facilities and is staffed by trained and dedicated employees, who are supported, by specialist staff and administration.
The Hospice applies the highest standard of care to enhance the quality of life of patients in a warm and friendly environment: Patients are encouraged to assume personal responsibility and independence within their physical and emotional capabilities. The involvement of patients, families and friends is encouraged, together with activities inside and outside the Hospice.
Job Summary
1. The Post holder provides leadership, direction and support to the nursing workforce and is responsible for ensuring that the highest possible professional nursing standards are set and maintained.
2. The post-holder will ensure that all housekeeping and catering services are delivered efficiently and effectively to the patients.
3. He/she will be a member of the Senior Management Team led by the Chief Executive and will take an active part in ensuring the Hospice remains at the forefront of the challenging agenda for palliative care providers.
4. He/she will act as the nominated person to ensure compliance with the National Care Standards for the Hospice Care set by NHS Quality Improvement Scotland.
