We’re looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Curator with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role to join our team at Celtic Harmony Camp. The Prehistory Centre is an interactive hub of learning featuring a Stone to Iron Age exhibition and a reconstructed Palaeolithic Cave. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape engaging exhibitions and events that connect visitors with our rich natural and cultural heritage. Key Responsibilities Plan and design dynamic exhibition spaces that tell the story of Prehistory, incorporating artwork and museum loans. Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to ensure proper care of artefacts, including handling, documentation, and preservation. Organise public events, talks, and tours, fostering connections between visitors, craftspeople, and exhibits. Develop partnerships with museums and cultural organisations to enhance exhibitions. Research and apply for grants, trusts, and lottery funding to support exhibitions and engagement programmes. Prepare impact reports, gathering and analysing data to evaluate project outcomes. Oversee communications with stakeholders, including visitors, volunteers, funders, and media outlets. About You Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a curatorial or similar role. Strong organisational and project management skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in managing volunteers and liaising with stakeholders. Passion for cultural heritage, history, and public engagement. Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and evenings for events.
