Kettlethorpe High School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher to join our outstanding and highly successful Art and Design Technology department, which comprises Fine Art, Design Technology, Food Technology, Textiles and Graphics. We are also excited to be launching GCSE Photography in September 2025.
The Art and Design Technology department has a high profile within the school and has a generous KS3 allocation, ensuring all disciplines are covered in depth. Similarly, there are eight qualifications delivered at KS4. The faculty has an excellent track record, consistently above the national average in examination courses. The department thrives on excellent planning and teamwork, delivering a knowledge-rich curriculum in well-resourced classrooms. In the school’s most recent Ofsted, the department was recognised as a real area of strength within the curriculum.
If you are successful, you will be part of a team that has a variety of specialised teachers, all offering support and guidance to each other, which creates a positive and hardworking ethos. They go above and beyond to ensure all students achieve.
Therefore, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to deliver Art and Design to pupils up to GCSE level. You will be required to have one or more specialisms in the following areas: Fine Art, Graphics, Textiles and/or Photography.
Students at Kettlethorpe High show a real enthusiasm for Art and Design, and the subject is regularly oversubscribed at GCSE. As a result of this, you will be joining a department which achieves results consistently above the national average and strives to maintain this while developing students’ skills and a passion for the subject.
We are looking for:
* High standards of teaching and learning
* A good degree in a specialist subject teaching qualification
* Flexibility to teach varied Art and Design subjects at Year 7 and Year 8
* Specialism(s) in one or more of Fine Art, Graphics, Textiles and/or Photography
If you want to work in a high-performing team in a very successful and popular school, we want to hear from you.
Closing date: Noon on Friday 4th April 2025.
