Home first is a rehabilitation and reablement service covering the whole of Salford facilitating clients discharge back into their own home. Our vision for Home First is ‘People are in the right place, at the right time - meaning nobody spends more nights away from home than is absolutely necessary’.
The Salford Rehab & Reablement Team provides a life changing service to the people of Salford by helping them to regain or attain as much independence as they can in their own home.
We have an exciting opportunity for a lead operational manager to support the senior team in delivering the key performance indicators. As the Home First lead operational Manager you will assist and support the home first lead in the planning and organisation of the home first processes. You will lead and be responsible for the performance management of services within the home first service.
You will have proven leadership skills and experience of managing staff in a health or social care environment. You will have an understanding of community working and the priorities of Salford Care Organisation.
Main duties of the job
As the Home First lead operational Manager you will assist and support the home first lead in the planning and organisation of the home first processes. You will lead and be responsible for the performance management of services within the home first service. You will lead on relevant projects and service developments within home first. You will support the development of any business plans for the home first service in conjunction with the operational and clinical leads. You will line manage the reablement team manager and the reablement Coordinators, in the absence of the reablement team manager, acting as a role model and motivator to your team, you will encourage colleagues to be the best they can be and ensure that the service keeps going from strength to strength by delivering the highest levels of customer care. To ensure escalations and issues are managed on a day-to-day basis in accordance with agreed processes. You will support the arrangement for management of escalations out-side of office hours. To assist the operational and clinical leads in managing capacity and demand and supporting patient pathways.

Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
* BTEC Certificate in Management or equivalent.
* Knowledge of PRINCE principles.
Knowledge and experience
* Substantial experience of working within a health or social care environment.
* An understanding of the acute setting and supporting patient flow.
* Evidence of excellent communication skills.
* Evidence of leadership skills.
* Evidence of good organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to use a range of MS office packages.
* Previous experience of working with clinical teams.
* Knowledge of community working.
Skills
* Analytical and judgement skills and ability to think strategically.
* Interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
* Ability to deal with conflict management and stressful/hostile situations.
