The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, business partnering experience preferably in an R&D environment, and a proven ability to influence across multiple teams in a matrixed global organization. This role combines strategic finance leadership with a deep focus on process improvement, finance systems modernization, and automation. A strong understanding of pharmaceutical product lifecycles, experience with financial modeling, product launches, and excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential. This is a 1 year contract (Maternity leave Cover) and supports hybrid working with 2 days in the office (Pollards Wood). Job Description Responsibilities Strategic Financial Support & Business Partnering - Act as a trusted financial advisor to Global R&D, Global Medical Affairs, and Global Regulatory teams. - Provide financial insights to support global product strategy development. - Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate financial impacts of key initiatives. - Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders to drive decision-making. - Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning for global product initiatives. - Create and present business cases and financial models to assess value and ROI. Financial Performance Management - Monitor and report on the financial performance of the R&D portfolio. - Define and track financial and operational KPIs for R&D assets. - Provide variance analysis and actionable recommendations to improve financial performance. - Drive initiatives to improve cost efficiency and resource allocation. Finance Transformation Projects - Support the implementation of new R&D Clinical studies systems. - Develop Products P&L Planning & Reporting Infrastructure. Long-Term Strategy and Budget Cycles - Develop financial models for product forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning. - Conduct periodic reviews of long-range forecasts. - Support global assets budget definition and assist in budget review processes. Competitive Intelligence and Market Insights - Collaborate with various teams to gather and analyze competitive intelligence and market trends. - Provide actionable insights based on competitor activities and market positioning. - Monitor industry developments and regulatory changes to assess financial impacts. Cross-Functional Partnering and Communication - Act as a key interface between global functions and finance. - Present financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Required Qualifications - Degree in Economics, Business, or related field with Finance qualification or equivalent - Extensive experience working within a non-finance matrix team. Desired Skills - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with significant financial work experience. - Experience in R&D, Corporate Finance, and Commercial Finance. - Knowledge of GE Healthcare Finance standards, systems, and processes. - Understanding of Accounting Principles and Controllership. - Process improvement certification (LEAN or Six Sigma). - Strong analytical skills and business acumen. - Excellent communication skills across multiple levels and regions. - Confidence and assertiveness in influencing business leaders. - Experience in global business environments and digital/AI tools. - Supply Chain Finance experience. - Adaptability and flexibility in response to new information and circumstances.
