Humanities Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a dynamic team at a well-respected secondary school in Middlesbrough. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator or an NQT looking to make an impact in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Humanities subjects (History, Geography, Sociology, etc.)
2. Develop students' critical thinking and analytical skills
3. Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
4. Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities
5. Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
6. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Humanities department's curriculum
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
1. A degree in Humanities or a related subject
2. QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent
3. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching Humanities
4. Excellent communication and classroom management skills
5. Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
6. A commitment to personal and professional development
Desirable:
1. Experience teaching at KS3 and KS4
2. Experience in delivering GCSE or A-Level content
3. Leadership potential or willingness to take on additional responsibilities
Additional Requirements:
1. Must hold an enhanced Child DBS or be willing to apply for one
2. Subject to satisfactory reference checks
