Location: Doncaster / Scunthorpe
Salary: £35-40,000 negotiable, private cash/health plan
Full-time permanent hours: Monday to Thursday 8 am - 4.30 pm, Friday 8 am - 3.30 pm, with occasional early and late hours.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to provide clear leadership for the development of an environment focused on Quality within our established and reputable manufacturing firm specializing in commercial joinery projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain the Quality Management system, including ISO14001 / ISO 9001, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Controls Plans, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) processes.
2. Oversee continued compliance and embedding of quality processes across the business.
3. Maintain relationships with customers and suppliers to maximize profit and efficiency.
4. Manage the audit program and supplier development and improvement.
5. Work proactively with all Directors, Managers, Supervisors, and Employees to maintain a program of continual improvement.
6. Lead a correct-at-source and problem-solving methodology (Lean).
7. Achieve quality targets for customers and business goals.
8. Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures.
9. Implement relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System and ensure compliance.
10. Respond to customer complaints with containment actions, full analysis, and implement countermeasures.
11. Update quality documentation and communicate lessons learned from quality concerns.
12. Ensure systems and procedures satisfy customer requirements and audits.
13. Train others in all aspects of the quality system and application procedures.
14. Undertake internal and process audits of the Quality Management System.
15. Ensure maintenance is carried out correctly and on time, ensuring safety and cleanliness.
16. Lead regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish action plans for improving build quality.
17. Produce written reports and make presentations while ensuring Health and Safety practices are observed.
18. Perform any other reasonable duties to assist the company in attaining its business objectives.
Qualifications
Experience working within a manufacturing environment is essential. A positive and energetic attitude with the ability to work independently is required. Experience in a joinery environment is an advantage.
