At Nuffield Health, the UK’s largest healthcare charity, everything we give our patients, members, and customers would not be possible without you. Your passion, your warmth, your drive to make a difference. Whether it's driving connected health, helping the nation, transforming experiences, or building the career you want - we give you the support to do it all. Join our journey. It starts with you.
As an Oncology Dietician at our Cambridge Hospital, you'll deliver a high-quality Dietician service to our Oncology patients through clinical assessment and the planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment.
As an Oncology Dietician, you will:
1. Select appropriate assessment approaches, methods, techniques, and equipment, in line with individual needs and characteristics, evidence of effectiveness, and resources available.
2. Explain clearly to patients their own role, responsibilities and accountability, and the information that is needed from the assessment and who might have access, respecting people's dignity, wishes, and beliefs; involving them in shared decision making; and obtaining their consent.
3. Prepare, conduct and monitor assessments in line with evidence-based practice, legislation, policies and procedures and/or established protocol/established theories and models.
4. Monitor individuals during assessments and take appropriate action in relation to any significant changes or possible risks.
5. Ensure accurate clinical records are maintained.
6. Evaluate relevant information to plan the range and sequence of assessment required and determine the specific activities to be undertaken, the risks to be managed and the urgency with which assessments are needed.
7. Consider and interpret all information available using systematic processes of reasoning to reach a justifiable assessment, explaining the outcomes to those concerned.
8. Determine and record diagnosis and treatment plans in accordance with professional guidelines.
9. Identify individuals whose needs fall outside protocols/pathways/models and make referrals to the appropriate practitioners with the necessary degree of urgency.
10. Keep up to date on current and new developments, theories, and reading.
11. Ensure all equipment is in good working order and escalate if otherwise.
