We are recruiting for a Business Administration (Maintenance and Facilities Coordinator) Apprentice at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens, giving you a fantastic opportunity to grow your Facilities and Administration skills whilst working at the beautiful Hillsborough Castle and Gardens. Being an apprentice is an exciting challenge often demanding but hugely rewarding. You will be training within a heritage environment, working alongside and learning from our experienced and dedicated team, developing skills and knowledge. To assist with the delivery and provision of a quality and cost effective; planned, routine and reactive building fabric and M&E maintenance service in the continuing provision of a safe, functional, and attractive environment for our visitors and staff. Support in maintaining the building fabric to an exemplary standard and the servicing of plant and equipment ensuring legal compliance. Assisting the Maintenance Contracts Manager in arranging maintenance works, liaising with external contractors and consultants. Ensuring that maintenance work is allocated and recorded in a timely fashion and to assist in organising work and informing internal stakeholders so that works are carried out with minimum disruption. Whilst studying towards your apprenticeship you will also: Assist in the management, administration, and implementation of all aspects of the Maintenance service as directed by the Maintenance Contracts Manager / Maintenance & Facilities Manager. Ensure the visitor facilities continue to be provided with an exemplary visitor experience. Co-ordinating various works as directed by the Maintenance Contracts Manager. The upkeep of our maintenance software system, raising purchase orders and receipting of invoices. To deal with helpdesk queries and raise and issue work orders through the in-house CAFM system. Regular inspections of visitor facilities for their continual good operation and upkeep. Identifying maintenance needs and priorities through surveys and inspections, recording information and reporting to the Maintenance Contracts Manager. To assist in the organisation, planning, co-ordination and monitoring of maintenance works to minimise disruption to visitors, staff, and residents. Maintain high presentation standards at all times prior to, during and following maintenance works. Strong effective liaison and communication to all staff, third parties, contractors, and visitors, providing informative and timely reporting and feedback. To obtain and file all required works completion sheets, compliant data, certifications etc. To be willing to support other HRP events in the occasional working outside of normal working times. More than anything we are looking for potential, but, as this Apprenticeship starts at level 2 we do have a few eligibility requirements: You must be 18 years old or over on 1st September 2025. Live in UK (resident in country role is based). You must not have completed a degree or equivalent level qualification in the UK or elsewhere and not already be in full-time education.
