As a Transport Manager you will produce, agree & manage the transport budget, accounting for any variances. You’ll take a proactive approach in order to fully engage any new initiatives at the depot, ensuring the integration of projects is successful in line with business needs As part of your key responsibilities you’ll: Proactively optimise transport operations for efficiency without impacting service Integrate and manage new cross-dock clients and the vehicle fleet, including offsite parking Effectively manage the Transport department through KPI measures Ensure effective communication and coordination across all areas of transport operations Lead, motivate, and develop the transport team, ensuring they are fully trained Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory legislation, including Health & Safety and transport regulations Manage 3rd party hauliers for national and international journeys Develop and implement service standard agreements with customers Drive continuous improvement initiatives and manage projects to successful delivery Maintain the Company's Operator Licence and manage associated risks Mentor and coach staff on the Unipart training and development programs About You We’d love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you’d be able to perform well in this role Effective, professional and confident communicator at all levels Good contract and people management skills Experience in setting, monitoring, and reporting on KPIs Pragmatic approach to problem solving Strong planning and organising skills, high level of numeracy Negotiating skills, ability to influence and steer Engaging leader with proven experience of building a team Skilled at setting clear objectives and motivating your team to achieve them Experience in managing budgets Able to work efficiently across the business and functional boundaries Commercially focussed Customer-service driven IOSH National CPC International CPC Our recruitment and selection process has been developed to ensure that it is consistent, fair and provides equality of opportunity - all selection decisions are based solely on technical and behavioural competencies.
