Currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P company based in central Aberdeen. It is an initial 12-month contract position that is expected to be renewed on an annual basis, and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role. This role may require occasional offshore travel.
The Electrical Engineer will provide front-line technical support to ensure equipment reliability. The post holder will optimise plans, ensure spare parts availability, and maintain accurate records. You will support shutdown processes and conduct audits for process compliance. The Electrical Engineer will proactively address equipment lifecycle issues, participate in failure analysis and drive innovation for improved facility safety and performance.
The Electrical Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
* Providing front-line technical support and guidance to ensure discipline equipment reliability and availability.
* Managing maintenance activities, including budget oversight, planning, and execution, emphasising cost control measures and competence in vendor management for quality and budget adherence.
* Supporting the execution of the Asset Preventive Master Plan to enhance facility safety, production performance, and reliability.
* Acting as the discipline competent person, supporting change management processes and providing technical assistance to Asset Operations Teams.
* Assisting the Lead Discipline Engineer in preparing and managing the discipline's opex budget, aligning with long-term goals.
* Optimising maintenance master plan activities, ensuring critical spares availability to minimise downtime.
* Maintaining accurate maintenance records and CMMS data, including discipline-related shutdown activities.
* Supporting the Shutdown Team throughout the Planned Maintenance Shutdown (PMSD) process, from scope identification to execution.
* Conducting audits and reviews to ensure process compliance and quality completion of maintenance activities.
* Proactively addressing equipment lifecycle issues, implement reliability improvement actions, and manage vendors for key mechanical equipment contracts.
* Promoting and implementing technological innovations to enhance facility safety, production performance, and reliability.
* Following quality planning and leading the identification and implementation of suitable quality controls.
* Arranging and tracking to completion quality activities such as audits, inspections and NCRs.
* Engaging with key vendors/suppliers to assess how they are managing quality on UKBU’s behalf.
Experience/Qualifications:
* A Degree qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline would be preferred.
* Current/valid offshore certification would be preferred.
* Previous experience in a similar Electrical Maintenance/Support Engineer type role, directly within the North Sea Oil and Gas industry, is essential.
* Previous CMMS experience is essential.
* Applicants should have sound general knowledge of electrical engineering principles associated with upstream oil and gas processing, covering electrical design, power system studies, electrical calculations, electrical equipment and systems up to 13.8Kv, EX equipment/certification, ATEX, subsea electrical systems and power generation control.
