We have an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager to join our team based in Irlam, Manchester. This is a fixed-term maternity leave cover position with hybrid working, offering the chance to make a significant impact while advancing your career in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
What Does This Job Entail?
In this pivotal role, you’ll work closely with the Account Controller to deliver sustainable volume growth and drive commercial success within the Tesco Group Accounts. You’ll take on responsibility for developing and executing joint business plans, managing price negotiations, generating new business opportunities, and leveraging insights to deliver innovation. This role is central to fostering relationships across the business and ensuring profitability for Kingsland Drinks Group.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver the commercial strategy as outlined by the Commercial Director.
* Manage the day-to-day business of the Group Account across all retail formats, including Booker, Tesco CE, Tesco Ireland, and providing significant support for Tesco UK.
* Oversee all aspects of budgeting, forecasting, sales, and profitability for the account.
* Achieve budgetary targets, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions as required.
* Build and nurture relationships with key account stakeholders, including Buyers, Supply Chain, Operations, and Marketing.
* Provide product training and management within the account base.
* Monitor competitive activity in the marketplace and use market data analysis to identify growth opportunities.
* Mentor, support, and develop a Business Account Executive to enhance team success.
* Proactively broaden the customer base within the Kingsland sales division.
Required Qualifications:
* Previous FMCG market experience, preferably in the wine industry.
* Demonstrated success in Account Management roles, including customer and portfolio management.
* Experience in the manufacturing sector and retail sales.
* WSET qualifications or similar wine education (preferred).
* Degree or diploma in Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
* Strong financial acumen and business insight.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Exceptional planning, organisational, and time-management skills with attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; SAP experience is highly desirable.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
