To provide technical expertise to the purchasing department and ensure that all procured products and services meet quality and performance standards. This role supports sourcing, evaluation, and vendor management activities while providing Quality Assurance compliance with internal and regulatory quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and possesses strong communication skills to liaise effectively between technical teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Verification of drawings and data received from drawing office prior to releasing to suppliers for manufacture. Verification of parts (QA) received from suppliers to ensure all product aspects have been met. Working with suppliers to support them ensuring products are manufactured to design tolerances. Working within the company systems to ensure all new product data is correctly setup and allow smooth manufacture of products. Working within the supply chain department as purchased products Quality Control lead. Analyse current purchased parts implementing improvements to improve the efficiency and quality of the purchasing processes and parts received. Review current processes and ways of working to identify areas of improvement, gathering feedback and data from all internal stakeholders. Coordinate with affected departments regarding best practices and application of processes. Ensuring all process changes are fully recognised with the companies ERP system to ensure demand driven MRP is accurate. Work with Purchasing department and suppliers to recognise potential cost down opportunities.
Relationships Working closely with all departments to ensure smooth purchase of all product and associated processes.
Budgetary accountability Assist in cost reduction targets for purchased parts.
Problem Solving & Accountability To recognise improvements in process leading to reduced lead times and costs. Open to problems being reported and with stockholders to overcome and implement solutions. Helping to ensure a continuous improvement culture is maintained throughout the supply chain department.
Constraints Key changes to practices/processes must be signed off by the Plant Manager

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSEssential experience Strong understanding of production & purchasing processes. Understand the base requirements for ERP to ensure accurate MRP runs. Being able to communicate new ways of working within the Purchasing team.
Desirable experience Ability to demonstrate leadership. Working knowledge of end-to-end purchasing/manufacturing processes. Proven knowledge of successfully implementing new processes. Demonstrated ability to resolve problems, educate, and work to exacting standards.
Essential education/qualifications Educated to A level standards or vocational equivalent.
Desirable education/qualifications Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Degree in Engineering
Required skills/behaviours Ability to use computers and base MS office skills. Report writing for management meetings. The ability to manage difficult people when implementing new processes. Attention to detail, ensuring all required detail is delivered accurately. To communicate clearly verbally and illustratively. Able to work with external organisations successfully Being able to approach difficult supply chain situations and successfully resolving. Be self-motivated and proactively lead projects from the front.
