We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work with an individual student. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on a student’s educational journey by providing tailored support and encouragement. Duties as a Teaching Assistant: Providing dedicated one-to-one support to a student with special educational needs in both academic and social aspects of school life. Helping the student access the curriculum by adapting learning materials, using assistive technology, and offering tailored guidance. Supporting the student’s emotional and behavioral development, helping them build self-confidence and resilience. Encouraging independence while providing appropriate guidance and supervision. Building a positive, trusting relationship with the student, helping them feel valued and supported. Monitoring the student’s progress and reporting back to the class teacher and SENCO. Assisting with classroom activities and supporting the student during lessons and break times. Ensuring a safe, inclusive environment where the student feels comfortable and motivated to learn. Requirements as a Teaching Assistant: Experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally on a one-to-one basis. A compassionate, patient, and proactive individual with the ability to adapt your approach to meet the unique needs of the student. Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues. A good understanding of SEN, including learning difficulties, social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The ability to implement strategies and interventions tailored to the student’s specific needs. Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a mainstream or special needs setting, is desirable.
