The starting salary will be from £27,644 on Grade D, depending on qualifications and experience.

Summary of the role
We seek a Research Technician to support our research in understanding how the crosstalk between the nervous system and the endocrine pancreas impacts glucose homeostasis in health and disease. This is a full-time (36.5 hours per week) D-grade technician position funded by Breakthrough T1D. The primary function of this position is to provide laboratory support for Professor Sarah Richardson's lab, which focuses on the study of Type 1 diabetes using unique, rare pancreas bioresources. The Richardson lab is part of the vibrant Exeter Centre of Excellence for Diabetes Research. The candidate will work closely with team members (including the principal investigator, postdocs, and students) and our collaborative partners.
The Research Technician will take a supporting role in an exciting spatial transcriptomics project and will provide general lab support and assist in completing a range of collaborative research projects using rare pancreas bioresources. The candidate would have the opportunity to learn the relevant skills required for completing the research projects and will have access to a supportive environment to advance their professional development. Lab skills the candidate would develop include spatial transcriptomics, multiplex immunofluorescence staining, molecular biology, microscopy, and AI-assisted image analysis.
