About us
The practice itself is based in a stand-alone building on London Road in Bedford, with plenty of free parking outside, built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including digital x-ray, inhouse lab, ultrasound with Doppler, tonovet, blood-pressure machine, multiparameter monitors and ECG, so you'll have the opportunity to grow and deliver the highest standard of care to all patients. The practice also has 4 consult rooms, 1 operating theatre, 1 imaging room and separate cat and dog wards.
We're proud to be a RCVS Accredited practice and of being a Cat Friendly Clinic, with a Silver ISFM status.
We are a team of 4 Vets, 5 RVNs and 1 SVN who are supported by our incredible team of 6 receptionists and our VCA. We look after our colleagues and genuinely care for one another. We're always looking for novel ways to support each other's wellbeing and create a relaxed atmosphere, so new ideas are always welcomed to ensure everyone feels included and valued!
The team is led by Nicole who holds a GP certificate in Small Animal Practice and one in Small Animal Surgery. Nicole once won the Vets4Pets 'Boss of the Year' award and was one of 3 finalists in the ‘New Graduate Mentorship Award'.
About you
You'll help with the daily running of the practice to ensure a high standard care for Patients and Clients. Nurses are the heart of our practice and perform an integral clinical role in caring for our patients. You'll have great communication and organisation skills and take pride in working to a high standard. You will have an interest in and want to learn about, the practice as a business, as well as how to motivate a team to achieve their personal and practice goals. The key to your success will be your ability to embrace all aspects of the Veterinary Nurse role, delivering excellent patient and client care.
Becoming part of our nursing team will allow you to be involved in all aspects of nursing care, whatever your interests may be! Our nurses are utilised to their fullest potential, and we actively encourage and support you in any way we can.
About the role
This will be a full-time role working 39 hours a week. Your hours will be split into 7.5 hour shifts over 5 days with shifts being a mixture of theatre, clinics, prep and nurse schedule three procedures. We offer early, midday and evening shifts too helping you achieve an excellent work life balance!
Included in your hours will be 1 in 4 Saturdays working 9am - 3:30pm.
