Job Description:
Ideally with a background in maintenance, painting and decorating, or general trades experience, along with the enthusiasm required to support our residents. As part of the Maintenance team, you will positively promote excellent health and safety standards within and around the home to maintain a safe environment.

About The Role
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible to the Home Manager for the upkeep of the Care Home and surrounding grounds, undertaking planned maintenance of the home ensuring excellent first impressions to all who visit.
2. Ensuring the smooth operation and serviceability of all services such as heating, lighting, plumbing, and non-medical equipment required for the safe and efficient operation of the Home.
3. Maintaining the home's exterior including pathways and driveways that are clear, unobstructed, and safe; tending to flowerbeds and potted plants; keeping grassed areas tidy to enhance first impressions; ensuring that external lighting and signs inside and outside the home are clear, visible, and in good order/repair.
4. Ensuring compliance and essential checks are completed, identifying and reporting all maintenance defects, and engaging proactively with all stakeholders to ensure all allocated tasks are carried out effectively and efficiently to a high standard.
5. Able to undertake decorating, including painting & wallpapering, minor refurbishment, and maintenance within the home.
6. Able to provide out-of-hours emergency service by participating in the on-call rota and being proactive when asked to provide temporary cover for sister homes.
7. Suitably trained to be an active Fire Warden and to keep up to date within policy and procedures including all training as required. Induct new staff as required.
8. Able to assemble/install new equipment/goods delivered to a home.
9. Assisting with the fire and water risk assessments and reviews. Carrying out plumbing, joinery, and general building repairs to a good standard.
10. Maintaining the company vehicle and carrying out basic safety checks.
